This was a fun project for me to do. I didn’t know much about car audio before and can’t claim to know much more now (LOL) but it was definitely a learning experience. Neal of Radioactive Custom Car Audio & Accessories wanted his site to show up when people searched for car audio systems in Google. This is his first website although he has had pages in Facebook and Google+ for a couple years. I started this project by doing keyword research and competition analysis. I found that although the competition was fierce globally, locally he stood a chance of getting on the first page of Google if his SEO was done correctly. One thing I discovered was that his primary competition was using the Local SEO plugin extension for Yoast SEO. As far as we were able to determine, his competition was not using Google Adwords so he should be able to compete directly with them for search engine placement in local results.
Neal wanted a fun, slightly edgy site. We decided to use the Parallax Pro theme in orange. Very few tweaks were needed to the original theme to get what Neal wanted. I did need to recreate the logo as he did not have the original artwork in a form I could change to meet the theme requirements. Content writing proved to be the hurdle that we needed to cross to get this project completed. My husband Tim offered his copywriting services and we went to Radioactive’s location in Prince George, VA, to interview him and his staff as well as get some photos of the team and shop. Neal was pleased with the results.
